Inspiring Future Marketers with AI and Creativity

Stoney Creek Social Media has proudly participated in Branch County's 9th Grade Career Day for years. This year, we introduced the students to artificial intelligence (AI) and its role in digital marketing. Our interactive booth and hands-on AI workshop became the highlight for students, giving them a fresh perspective on how technology can support creativity in social media.

Dawn Renshaw, Owner/CEO of Stoney Creek Social Media:

"My favorite thing about attending the Branch County career fair is seeing the young people's faces as they walk up to the table. There is so much wonder and excitement. Asking them questions about what they want to do after graduating high school and discussing their goals and aspirations."

Our Main Attraction: Exploring AI as a Creative Partner

We elevated our booth with a laptop and monitor to run an interactive workshop on how AI can be used in digital marketing. Students gathered around, eager to learn, as we explained AI's capabilities and limitations in an accessible and engaging way.

Highlights from our AI session included:

  • Introducing AI's Role in Marketing: We shared how AI reshapes the industry by helping marketers brainstorm ideas, streamline tasks, and analyze data. Students learned that AI is a tool that complements human creativity rather than replacing it.

  • Hands-On Workshop for Brainstorming Ideas: Our workshop showed students how AI can help generate ideas for social media posts, captions, and hashtags. They watched in awe as AI instantly suggested content ideas, illustrating how technology can spark fresh ideas and support brainstorming in a fast-paced environment.

  • Emphasizing Responsible Use of AI: We made it clear to students that AI is a co-creator, not a substitute for human insight. Our team emphasized that AI can offer inspiration but should never be the final answer. Instead, AI serves as a supportive tool that can help refine ideas and explore new directions in creative work.

Clay Haggard, SEO & Content Director:

"I love educating the youth about taking the next step in their education and providing any help I can. Whether that is through personal experience or not, having those conversations is invaluable."

Building on Our Legacy: Making Career Day Better Every Year

Our team is dedicated to making our booth a memorable, informative experience for students. We add new elements each year to keep our presentation fresh, relevant, and engaging. This year's AI demo was particularly rewarding, sparking genuine interest and enthusiasm among students growing up in an increasingly digital world. Seeing the excitement and curiosity of these students each year makes everything we do at Career Day worthwhile. They are the future of this industry, and it's inspiring to witness that potential firsthand.

Looking Forward to Inspiring Future Marketers

Career Day 2024 was a success, thanks to the students who stopped by our booth. We're honored to play a role in guiding the next generation toward a potential career in digital marketing, showing them that AI and creativity can work hand-in-hand. As we look forward to next year, we're already planning new ways to inspire and connect with students in more meaningful ways.
